Bach Project Concert

The St. John’s Bach Project will conclude our season with two gems from the Weimar Period – Toccata, Adagio and Fugue in C Major, BWV 564, performed by organist Maribeth Gunning; and Cantata 152 “Tritt auf die Glaubensbahn (Step Upon the Path of Faith)” with soloists Ingela Onstad and Michael Hix, instrumentalists Jessie Tatum, MaryAnn Shore, Shanti Randall, Mary Springfels, Joel Becktell, and Maribeth Gunning conducted by Bradley Ellingboe.

The concert will be held on Saturday, April 25th, at 5:00 PM in the sanctuary. There is no admission charge, although a free-will offering will be gratefully accepted. Free childcare is available and our church is handicapped accessible.

Wednesday Night Live

Plan to join us for great meals, wonderful classes, and an overall good time!

As always, you are invited to join us on Wednesday evenings at 5:00 PM for an always-changing menu featuring great food. The cost for the meal is $10 for Adults (18 years old and over), $5 for Children (ages 12 to 17), $2 for Children (ages 6 to 11), and anyone under 6 years old eats for FREE. April 22nd Menu: Baked Salmon or Chicken Breast with Garlic Pine Nut Basil Oil

There are also a large variety of free programs and classes – for adults, youth, and children – to choose from both before and after the dinner.

FPA Sweet Jazz Concert


On Sunday, April 26th, at 7:00 PM, Family Promise is hosting their 9th Annual Sweet Jazz Concert at Sandia Presbyterian Church (10704 Paseo Del Norte NE). Come join in the fun with coffee, sweets, a silent auction, and live jazz music.


Tickets are $20 and may be purchased in advance on the Family Promise of Albuquerque Website or by calling 268-0331.

Women's Brown Bag Lunch

The Women’s Ministry will host a Brown Bag Luncheon on Tuesday, April 28th at 11:30 AM in Rooms 149/151.


Lunch will be followed by a “Time of Prayer” - prayers for our families and friends, our church, and our country. Please bring your prayer journal/notebook, your lunch and drink, and join us for a time of fellowship.

UMW Celebration!

On Saturday, May 2nd, we’re celebrating teenage girls, young women, mothers, and ladies of all ages, and we want you to be part of this special UMW celebration! Even if you’ve never attended a UMW meeting and know nothing about it, we want you to share in the joy!

We’re planning a fun atmosphere with lots of fellowship, free lunch, and free childcare. We’ll be inspired by Ellen Lipsey, who serves on the Program Advisory Group of the United Methodist Conference.

This special event will begin at 10:30 AM in the Family Life Center. Free childcare will be provided, but reservations are required.

Vacation Bible School

It’s time to register for Vacation Bible School!

VBS is a week full of fun for children ages 3 through rising 6th Grade. Each day, kids will dive into their Bibles and learn that following Jesus means taking action! Camp will be held June 22-26, 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM.

Register online, pick up a paper registration form around the church, or download a VBS Registration Form Here. Each family will receive a free CD that features camp music recorded by “Go Fish” when registering.

S.M.A.R.T. Camp

Our annual Summer Music, Art, Rhythm, and Theater (SMART) Camp will be held July 13-17. The camp is for rising 1st – 6th Graders and is open to the community. (Children must be 6 years old prior to Sept. 1st, 2015.)

The camp will run from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM at St. John’s. During the day, the children will follow a rotating schedule of sessions in various musical activities and prepare a musical, which will be performed on Friday.

Our Ministries

Adult Ministries
St. John's offers a large number of opportunities for Adults to get involved with the church.
Youth Ministries
The youth ministry programs at St. John's are tailored specifically for both Senior High and Mid-High School students. Our goal for all of these programs is to encourage and guide our youth to become faithful diciples of Jesus.
Child & Family Ministries
St. John's United Methodist Church has an oustanding and full children's program. In addition to Sunday School, St. John's offers a variety of music, sports, scouting, and other group activities for children in a nurturing, encouraging, and caring Christian envirionment.
