St. John's Bach Project

Join us Saturday, August 27th, at 5:00 PM for the next offering of “The St. John's Bach Project,” featuring very special guest Ken Medema!

In addition to Ken's original improvisations, there will be a performance of Cantata 147, "Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben," featuring Ingela Onstad, Jacqueline Zander-Wall, Cory Klose, and Michael Hix, and conducted by Matthew Greer.

Ken Medema Sings in Worship

Ken Medema will be our special musical guest in worship on Sunday morning, August 28. At 11:00 AM, he will perform with our choirs.

Ken is a composer-singer-songwriter who has been performing in the United States, Canada, and Europe for more than forty years. You won't want to miss Ken's performance in worship at St. John's!

Chancel Choir Commences

Chancel Choir will commence rehearsals for our exciting 2016-17 season on Wednesday, August 24th, at 7:00 PM (sharp!). All adult singers are welcome, regardless of experience level.

In addition to singing a variety of fantastic music for Sunday worship, we will also make music this season with Ken Medema, The New Mexico Philharmonic, and VOCES8. Come give us a try!

Asbury Cafe Pie Parties

Come join us every Tuesday through August in the church kitchen at 8:30 AM. Each week we make and freeze about 50 pies to sell at the Asbury Café during the NM State Fair. All are welcome.

Family Promise Hosting Week

Four homeless families being served by Family Promise of Albuquerque and twenty-four Christian and Jewish Congregations will live at St. John's starting August 28th.

St. John's Family Promise volunteers can sign up for assignments starting Sunday, August 7th, in the Hospitality Center and Family Life Center.

UMW September Meetings

With school back in session, and "learning" on our minds (somewhat), let's get together for a fun-filled version of "Bible 101" at our General Meeting on Thursday, September 1st. Join us at 10:00 AM in Room 241 as we snack, fellowship, and learn, with the emphasis on fun!

All ladies are invited, as well as any interested men. In this serious world, we're all in need of a dose of laughter; so come, bring a friend, and enjoy!

Methodist Heritage Dinner

You are invited to attend the Methodist Heritage Dinner on Friday, September 9th, at 6:00 PM in the Family Life Center. The menu will feature Peppercorn Roast Beef with a Mushroom Cream Sauce along with sides, iced tea/coffee, and dessert. The cost is $10.

Will Steinsiek, the NM Conference Archivist, will be speaking about Benigno Cardenas, “The Monster of Heresy,” and the first Methodist Episcopal Church Mission to New Mexico in 1850.

Our Ministries

Adult Ministries
St. John's offers a large number of opportunities for Adults to get involved with the church.
Youth Ministries
The youth ministry programs at St. John's are tailored specifically for both Senior High and Mid-High School students. Our goal for all of these programs is to encourage and guide our youth to become faithful diciples of Jesus.
Child & Family Ministries
St. John's United Methodist Church has an oustanding and full children's program. In addition to Sunday School, St. John's offers a variety of music, sports, scouting, and other group activities for children in a nurturing, encouraging, and caring Christian envirionment.
