The Hunt for Easter

The Hunt for Easter will be held on Saturday, March 28th, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM in the Family Life Center.

Join us for crafts, snacks, cookie decorating, a visit from the bunny, and . . . egg hunts! Bring your basket and a friend.

The event is completely free and open to the community!

Holy Week Service

On Thursday, April 2nd, at 7:30 PM in the Sanctuary, you are invited to join us for a special service of prayer and contemplation.

The Chancel Choir will perform “Return to Me,” a beautiful multi-movement cantata by Taylor Davis, featuring cellist Joel Becktell and pianist Maribeth Gunning.

Please note - Because of a heartbreaking loss at St. John’s, Santa Fe, the choir has made the decision to move our Holy Week service to Thursday and join them on Good Friday.

2015: Dare To Be Healthier!

On Wednesday, March 25th, you are invited to come and learn ways that anyone can be healthier.

Linn Furnish (who has been an RN working in OR, Occupational Health, and Wellness since 1984) will present wellness information and tips that really work to improve your overall health and well being in Rooms 149/151 from 6:00 PM—7:00 PM.

The program will include handouts, recipes, and tips on how to change recipes to be healthier and still delicious!

Tome Hill Expedition

To prepare for Holy Week, St. John’s is taking a pilgrimage to Tome Hill on Palm Sunday, March 29th, from 4:00 PM—7:30 PM. We will gather in the FLC at 4:00 PM with a sack dinner. We will depart by 4:15 PM, climb the hill, have worship on the summit, and return to church at 7:30 PM.

If you would like to join our group, please confirm with Jarrod ( by Wednesday, March 25th, so we can have an accurate count of cars, seats, and pilgrims. Make sure you bring water, sunscreen, sunglasses, and hiking shoes as the terrain is steep and rocky. The event is free!

Lenten Fish Fry Dinner

Yes, it is that time again!

Fish Fry Dinners will be held on Fridays, February 20-March 27, so be sure to mark your calendars. The cost this year will be $12 per person and $6 per child (10 and under). The menu will remain the same.

If you want to help out at the dinners, come by the Welcome Center on Sundays to sign up.

Moments of Prayer & Reflection

To help us mark the season of Lent, Pastor Craig will lead “Moments of Prayer & Reflection” at 12:15 PM each Monday during the season.

The “Moments” will only be 15 minutes long, but will serve to remind us to spend a little more time with God during this reflective season leading us to Holy Week and Easter.

Women's Brown Bag Lunch

The Women’s Ministry is hosting a Brown Bag Lunch on Tuesday, March 24th, at 11:30 AM in Rooms 149/151. Steve Sink, head of the APD Neighborhood Watch Program, will be our guest speaker.

Steve has helpful ideas on how to protect ourselves, whether at home or away. You are home alone, the doorbell rings, what do you do? You see someone suspicious in the church’s parking lot, what do you do? Please bring your lunch and drink and join us on the 24th.

Wednesday Night Live

Plan to join us for great meals, wonderful classes, and an overall good time!

As always, you are invited to join us on Wednesday evenings at 5:00 PM for an always-changing menu featuring great food. The cost for the meal is $10 for Adults (18 years old and over), $5 for Children (ages 12 to 17), $2 for Children (ages 6 to 11), and anyone under 6 years old eats for FREE. The menu for March 25th: From-Scratch Chicken Fried Steak

There are also a large variety of free programs and classes – for adults, youth, and children – to choose from both before and after the dinner.

Women's Book Study

St. John’s Women’s Ministry is sponsoring a 4-week book study, “The Jesus Priorities: 8 Essential Habits,” by Christopher Maricle, on Tuesdays, April 7-28, from 9:30 AM—11:30 AM.

The cost for the book is $12. Pick up a registration form in the Welcome Center. The deadline for registration is March 29th.

Walk the Prayer Labyrinth

Walking a labyrinth has been a practice of contemplative Christians since the middle ages. Make this experience part of your Holy Week journey.

It will be available in the Family Life Center during Holy Week, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM—7:00 PM.

Easter Prayer Vigil

Starting at 7:00 PM on Holy Saturday, April 4th, St. John’s will be having an Easter Prayer Vigil that will last through the night into Easter morning.

We will have around 12 different interactive and reflective prayer stations to help focus your mind and soul on the needs of our church, community, and world as we prepare for the Great Resurrection.

Drop in between the hours of 7:00 PM—11:00 PM and get immersed in the Spirit (it takes about an hour to go through all 12 stations).

Easter First Sunday Lunch

Easter falls on the first Sunday again this year, so the Food Ministry will be serving a Turkey Feast with all the Fixins’.

He is Risen! And so is the leavened bread! Don’t spend a fortune at a restaurant. Just bring your family to the Family Life Center here at St. John’s between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM. No reservations required. Have a full meal for just $10 for adults, $5 for ages 12-17, $2 for ages 6-11, and FREE for those under 6.

Best deal in town, and you get to fellowship with your extended church family.

Our Ministries

Adult Ministries
St. John's offers a large number of opportunities for Adults to get involved with the church.
Youth Ministries
The youth ministry programs at St. John's are tailored specifically for both Senior High and Mid-High School students. Our goal for all of these programs is to encourage and guide our youth to become faithful diciples of Jesus.
Child & Family Ministries
St. John's United Methodist Church has an oustanding and full children's program. In addition to Sunday School, St. John's offers a variety of music, sports, scouting, and other group activities for children in a nurturing, encouraging, and caring Christian envirionment.
