WNL Class on John Wesley

Adam Hamilton’s book, Revival: Faith as Wesley Lived It,” will be the basis of a class on John Wesley’s life and faith, taught by Jack & Carol Nuzum. In this series of classes that will run on Wednesday, October 7—November 18th, at both 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM, we will watch a short video in which Hamilton visits key places in John Wesley’s life.

He traces the development of Wesley’s faith and the growth of Methodism with an emphasis on how the faith of England as well as our faith today can be revived through Wesleyan inspiration. The book may be purchased, but is not required. The classes will have the same content at 4:00 PM and at 6:00 PM, so come to the class that fits your schedule and switch back and forth, if needed.

Community Fall Festival

This year, St. John's Annual Fall Festival, an event full of games, activities, costumes, and candy that children of all ages enjoy, is expanding beyond the walls of our church as we reach out to the families of our surrounding neighborhood.

The date is set for Sunday, October 25th, from 4:00 PM—7:00 PM. What we need now is you! With the addition of hot food, live music, and the new carnival games, we need volunteers to help greet people, pass out candy, show visitors around, and oversee games to make sure everyone is safe, welcomed, and having a good time. It will be an amazing, fun-filled afternoon!

Please e-mail Jarrod ( if you can help.

FPA Hosting Week

Family Promise at St. John’s will again host several families from November 1-8.

Volunteers can start sign up at the Hospitality Center on Sundays. Over 50 members of St. John’s volunteered in September to provide food and companionship to the families.

Because of the success of Family Promise of Albuquerque in placing the three families we hosted in September, we expect to host 3 or 4 new families in November.
