FAT Tuesday Pancakes are BACK!

In the time honored Fat Tuesday Tradition, the youth of St. John’s will be hosting an All-You-Can-Eat Pancake Feed on Tuesday, February 9th, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM in the FLC.

Tickets will be $5 for adults, $2.50 for kids, and sold only at the door. Bacon will also be available for an additional $1 per slice. All proceeds go to benefit this summer’s M&M Trip to San Francisco.

In addition to all-you-can-eat pancakes, there will be a great selection of amazing toppings, plus an assortment of fun pancake-related games and wild pancake challenges happening that night, too. Come out and join in festivities.

Ash Wednesday Worship Service

St. John’s Ash Wednesday Worship Service will be held at 6:00 PM in the Sanctuary on Wednesday, February 10th.

Come gather for a reflective service as we mark the beginning of the Lenten journey. Join us for a time of scripture and prayer.

Music will be provided by the Chancel and NewSound Choirs.

Wednesday Night Live CANCELLED!

There will be no WNL programs this week, due to the Ash Wednesday Worship Service. All the usual WNL activities, including the dinner, are cancelled on February 10th.

Everything will be back to normal next week, February 17th.

Lenten Fish Fry Dinners

This year’s Lenten Fish Fry Dinners start soon at St. John’s. Chef Tim and his crew will serve up fried fish and all the fixings every Friday night in the Family Life Center starting February 12th until March 18th from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM.

The fare will include your choice of fried catfish or cod, baked cod, or chicken, along with your choice of sides, a beverage, and some super desserts.

The cost is $12 per adult and $6 per child (10 and under). Reservations are not required and gluten-free menu options will be available. Come on out and get your Fish-Fix and enjoy the fellowship!

NM Philharmonic Concert

The New Mexico Philharmonic will appear in concert at SJUMC, conducted by Music Director Matthew Greer, on Friday, February 12th, at 7:00 PM in the Sanctuary.

The program will also feature St. John’s Ensemble-in-Residence “Quintessence: Choral Artists of the Southwest,” and will include J.S. Bach’s Cantata 80 (“A Mighty Fortress is Our God”) and Felix Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 5 (“Reformation”).

Jolly Elders

The SJUMC Preschool Children will present a heart-warming Valentine's Day program as guests of the Jolly Elders on February 10th.

Bring your own table setting and a dish to share. Arrive before noon. The children will entertain us starting at 12:00 PM, followed by our potluck lunch at 12:30 PM.

Memory Cafe

Love is in the air!

Saturday, February 13th, is our Valentine Celebration! Sweet Adeline’s will sing for us and we will enjoy activities with a Valentine’s theme. At 5:00 PM, the food ministry will prepare a dinner for us. The menu includes ham, baked potatoes, beans, salad, and dessert.

The cost for Memory Café participants is $7.50. Reservations must be made with Lynn (271-0746) by Monday, February 8th.

Bluegrass Evensong

Bluegrass Evensong will be held on Saturday, February 20th, at 5:00 PM in the Sanctuary.

Come worship with us and enjoy a good dose of old-time music provided by our own St. John’s Bluegrass Ensemble. Rev. Craig Cockrell will be providing scripture readings and a message.

Preschool Plus 2016-2017 Registration

We’re getting ready for another great year at St. John’s Preschool Plus. Registration for members of St. John’s will take place on Sunday, February 21st, between services in the Hospitality Center.

Registration for families who have children currently enrolled in St. John’s Preschool Plus will begin on Monday, February 22nd, beginning at 8:30 AM in the SonShine Café. Open enrollment begins on Monday, February 29th.

Our Ministries

Adult Ministries
St. John's offers a large number of opportunities for Adults to get involved with the church.
Youth Ministries
The youth ministry programs at St. John's are tailored specifically for both Senior High and Mid-High School students. Our goal for all of these programs is to encourage and guide our youth to become faithful diciples of Jesus.
Child & Family Ministries
St. John's United Methodist Church has an oustanding and full children's program. In addition to Sunday School, St. John's offers a variety of music, sports, scouting, and other group activities for children in a nurturing, encouraging, and caring Christian envirionment.
