In addition to Sunday School, St. John’s offers a variety of music, sports, scouting, and other group activities for children in a nurturing, encouraging, and caring Christian environment. Pool Party VBS– Make a splash with Jesus!

St. John’s United Methodist Church is hosting a camp full of fun for children ages 3 through rising 6th grade! Pool Party VBS will be held June 18-22, 2018, 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at St. John’s. Lunch will be offered daily starting at noon.

Each day, kids will learn how God can do amazing things through us, that he wants to have a friendship with us, and that he loves us no matter what! We will sing, create, dance, and play while learning how God is always there for us!

Each child attending will receive a camp t-shirt. Cost is $15 per child, or $30 max per family.

Volunteers, and their children, attend camp for FREE! Rising 6th graders are welcome to serve as volunteers, or attend as campers. Print out this form and return it to the church office, or sign up online by clicking here. Call Brandie at 505-883-9717, ext. 133 with questions.

Childrens Ministry 1b Kingdom Quest Sunday School – Grades K-4:
St. John’s United Methodist Church is proud to offer this exciting faith education program for children. In Kingdom Quest, children meet in aged-classes to play, lead, and create while learning about Bible stories. For the 2017-208 year, the kids will be learning with the Bible in One Year Program. Each week, the kids learn about a new Bible story or figure, and how each of those events/people fits into God’s plan! The curriculum engages children with meaningful activities that encourage participation and interaction. Classes meet upstairs at both 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM. Classes at 9:30 are held in room 236 for 3rd to 5th graders, and in room 248 for kindergarten through 2nd grade. At 11 a.m., K-5th grade are grouped together in room 248.
Preschool Sunday School – Ages 3 through pre-K:
Preschool Sunday School is specifically designed for children ages 3 through pre-Kindergarten. Every Sunday, this program provides children with a hands-on approach to learning God’s Word. The Preschool Sunday School meets in Room 140 at 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM. Preschoolers are also working on The Bible in One Year program.
Childrens Ministry 2 Little Lambs Nursery – Infants through Age 2:
Our highly trained and caring staff is available to shepherd our youngest friends (infants – 3 years old) during every worship service. In addition, the Little Lambs Nursery is offered during some other church meetings and functions. Age appropriate activities and developmentally stimulating toys help the children enjoy their nursery experience. Pagers are available so parents can worship without worry. All Nursery workers are CPR certified, background checked, and have undergone Safe Sanctuaries Training.

Parents’ Night Out is offered on the second Friday of every month, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Our wonderful childcare workers plan a night of fun for kids age 6 months and up!

We’ll play games (outside when the weather is nice), do a craft, watch a movie, and have dinner together. Cost is $15 per child, and registration is a must.

Psaltery and Canate singing Hosanna!(For Children Age 4 Through 5th Grade)

NewSound provides a weekly opportunity for children to discover and develop their innate musical abilities. NewSound participants engage in both choral and instrumental music, as well as learning about the Christian faith. St. John’s offers a nationally accredited week-day preschool for children ages 12-months-old through 4-years-old. Each one of our highly qulified and trained staff is Red Cross First Aid and Child CPR certified. In addition, each staff mamber completes 24 hours of continuing education each year. Kids Bible ClubJoin us every Wednesday through May 3 to learn about how to be a superhero!

The Bible tells us what characteristics we need to be super: helpfulness, creativeness, self-control, and more! We’ll meet in Room 240 at 6:00 PM for games, and then split into age-level classes for a lesson, songs, and hands-on activities! For ages 3 through 5th grade.

Angel MinistryAll are welcome!

We are happy to offer assistance to children with special needs and their families. Our Angel Ministry facilitators work to help all children feel included in our programs, as well as train our teachers to create lessons and activities that are open to all.

Other ProgramsCub Scout Pack 286 & Boy Scout Troop 286:
Every Monday night, starting at 7:00 PM, Boy Scout Troop 286 meets in Room 245. On Tuesdays at 6:30 PM, Cub Scout Troop 286 meets in Room 240. Boys in first grade and up are welcome! Please contact Jim Spates for more information on Boy Scouts, or Jim Dawson for more information on Cub Scouts.

Parents’ Night Out:
On the second Friday of every month, from 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM, parents have the opportunity to go out while their kids come to St. John’s to play games, do craft projects, and eat pizza. Parents’ Night Out is supervised by our nursery staff, who are all CPR certified, background checked, and highly trained. The cost is only $10 per child. Registration forms for your child’s first visit to Parents’ Night Out are available here, and in the main office. Call 883-9717 to reserve a spot.
