St. John's Preschool Plus Director
Summary:
St. John’s United Methodist Church is looking for a Preschool Plus Director who is excited to lead a church-related preschool program in a clean, open, well-equipped facility and is eager to embrace the Preschool Plus Mission, To nurture and support children from age 6 weeks up to 5 years old and their families and to provide a high-quality preschool experience and before and after school care program in a Christian environment.
Duties:
The Director is responsible for the efficient and effective daily operation of a comprehensive preschool, extended care program and summer program, including, but not limited to, maintaining effective communication with families, hiring and supervising Preschool staff, complying with all applicable New Mexico state laws and regulations regarding preschools, maintaining NAEYC accreditation standards, overseeing the implementation of developmentally-appropriate programming, marketing the Preschool, and developing, overseeing and reporting on the status of an annual budget. The Director will work closely with the Preschool Ministry Team, work cooperatively with the Church Director of Children and Families Ministries, the Church Business Manager, the Senior Pastor, and other Church staff members as necessary and develop a positive relationship between the congregation and the Preschool.
Requirements:
Candidates must meet educational requirements for New Mexico 5-star FOCUS status (webnew.ped.state.nm.us ) and NAEYC accreditation. (www.naeyc.org/accreditation) (Standard 10). A bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development or a related field is preferred. Candidates must have experience working in a preschool, preferably having served as a Director.
Compensation:
Competitive salary based on education and experience.
